Who is the Car Service For?
The car service is for the elderly and disabled who cannot get to doctors or hospital appointments by any other means. We are also able to take clients to do their weekly shopping, or to the hairdressers. Whatever the need is we can provide the service. All lifts just need to be booked in advance so that we can arrange the transport.
Volunteer Drivers Wanted!
Are you a car driver with some spare time and would like to help your local community?
You would use your own car to provide individual transport for healthcare journeys such as the doctors, hospital, dentists and chiropodist or to visit someone in hospital.
- How often you drive depends on you and what time you have to spare. You could become one of our regular drivers or just drive on an occasional basis.
- How far you drive depends on whether you prefer local journeys around town or to hospitals further away.
- Expenses are paid on a mileage basis. We have arranged with local hospitals for your parking to be free.
- Your Insurance is covered and your 'no claims' bonus is protected by the Car Scheme's insurance policy.
To apply to become a driver then please contact our office.
