The Berlingo Wheelchair Access Vehicle by Jacci Phillips
We hope to be able to offer the car not just for essential doctors or hospital appointments but also for trips to the hairdressers or an evening at the theatre. These are things that you and I take for granted but for people who have no access to appropriate transport this is a huge luxury. So the Berlingo is going to become a very important part of our lives and the lives of local disabled people.
I think it’s wonderful when two charities can work together to make the local community a better place for everyone.
Community Action feels very honoured that The Lions wanted to support the work that we do and have donated this car to us. It has been our desire for sometime now to have a dedicated car for wheelchair users and The Lions have made our dreams become reality.
