Become a Volunteer Driver

Do you want to support your local community?
This is why our drivers volunteer.
“As a retiree I needed a focus to get out of the house.”
“I wanted to volunteer for something but with flexible days.”
“To do something positive to help the community.”
“I wanted to give back and support the community, and I also really enjoy chatting with the people I drive.”
Become Part of the glue holding our wonderful community together.
Are you retired? Or do you just have time to spare? Do you want to be a bigger part of your local community?
It does not matter if it is two days or two hours a week, your help will be greatly appreciated, not just by your team at Community Action but by the community we serve. We provide transport for people living in and around the Malvern area. The people we help are typically elderly folk who are unable to drive and rely not just on the cost effectiveness of what we offer, but a friendly local face helping them out, means a lot.
As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll use your own car to help local people get to important appointments – like the doctor, hospital, or dentist – as well as social outings such as visiting the hairdresser or meeting friends. You will have full flexibility in deciding how much time you want to devote. We operate a fuel allowance scheme, (per mile rate) for our drivers which more than covers the cost of their fuel.
Whatever your preference - We need drivers both for local journeys and for longer distance journeys.
Are you qualified to drive a minibus? We also need minibus drivers for our Day Trips and Sunday Tea Clubs.
If you'd prefer to drive one of our vehicles, that's great we have wheelchair access vehicles and minibuses that are ready and waiting for a friendly, driver to take the wheel!
If you’ve got a clean driving licence, a roadworthy car (optional), and a desire to give back to your community, we’d love to hear from you.
