Aileen Celebrates Nearly 22 Years of Dedication at Community Action

For almost 22 years, Aileen Burton has been the heart and soul of Community Action in her role as Out and About Coordinator, dedicating her time, energy, and compassion to improving the lives of older people across the community.

Known for her selflessness, kindness and unwavering commitment, Aileen has spent more than two decades ensuring older residents are never left isolated or forgotten. Through organizing trips, social outings, activities, and events, she has helped countless people regain their confidence, form friendships and enjoy life to the fullest.

Colleagues, passengers and volunteers alike describe Aileen as someone who always goes above and beyond. Whether arranging transport, checking in on someone who may be struggling, or simply offering a listening ear and warm smile, nothing is ever too much trouble for her.

Her passion for helping others shines through in everything she does. Many older people who once felt lonely or housebound now look forward to regular outings and activities thanks to Aileen’s dedication and encouragement. From seaside trips and afternoon teas to shopping days and social gatherings, she works tirelessly to make sure every person feels included, valued and cared for.

Over the years, Aileen has become far more than a coordinator – she has become a friend and trusted support to so many people in the community. Her ability to brighten someone’s day and make everyone feel welcome has made a lasting difference to countless lives.
