Future Proofing the Charity

Community Action Malvern and District are proud to share that we are working in partnership with Malvern Hills District Council to open a Community Hub in Barnards Green. For more information on Wellbeing Hubs have a read here:

When the charity was first given notice to leave Belle Vue Terrace three years ago there was a will then to bring all our various component parts together, but no suitable building was available at the time.

However, thanks to the hard work and connections of our trustee Cllr Anne Cherry, we have now found bigger premises. Moving to one single property will bring together all that we do…The office, Malvern Shed and all our vehicles can be parked at the new premises. Not only that, but we have spare room for our partners to use, making this a great opportunity to develop the Hub.

We are moving to a unit situated behind the Co-op in Barnards Green, number 12B, WR14 3NB.

The unit needs some work on it to make it suitable for our use. Initially we will be putting in sound proofing for the Shed area and brighten up the office space. We have then decided to keep things simple to start with and we can develop the internal space over time as we get to know what we need. And there is ample parking for all.

We do hope to be out of Worcester Road by early Sept and then move the Shed over time, so watch this space for more details.

By rationalising our home, we will save on costs and time in all that we do, so this will really help with the sustainability of the charity: Only one bill for rent and utilities and no driving back and forth to locations to support the Shed or check on our vehicles.

With the current economic challenges all charities face, it is a real positive for us and gives us the opportunity to support more local people with the help they need. Please do get back to us if you would like to be involved. Donations towards the refurb or gifts in kind to support this exciting new venture are particularly welcome.
